THE
PERUVIAN ALPACA HAT
[I was given this very warm hat by blind Peruvian harpist Don Antonio
Sulca who came with his three sons to tour the UK in the 1980s (their first
time out of Cusco, see publications) for Arts Worldwide. I was their interpreter
and tour manager]

and linked web pages for two one hour BBC 4 TV
programmes of Celtic Connections Festival Glasgow involving
full one hour scripts, plus biographies of musicians, information about
instruments, quiz. The programmes also went out on cable.
Exhibition 2001
On November 2001 I curated the ‘Santería: Rhythm
of the Saints’ an exhibition of Cuban sculpture for Glasgow’s
Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. This was the major exhibition
of the Si Cuba! Festival artistic programme (46 papier-mache-sculptures
of Cuban Orishas and Saints of the popular Santería Religion made
by Cuban artist Filiberto Mora). I gave several public
lectures on the music of the Santería religion and organised, assisted
and translated for museum, school and community workshops.
